Hey there! Some links on this page are affiliate links which means that, if you choose to make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I greatly appreciate your support!

The Alt Text Generator for Any Image

Guess what! I created a template on the TextCortex platform that allows you to quickly generate alt text for any image.

It’s called ‘Alt Text Generator for Images’.  This is what the template looks like so you can easily find it on TextCortex.

It may be helpful for you to open TextCortex in a separate tab or window so that you can easily follow along.

If you don’t already have a paid TextCortex account, you can try out the platform for free by clicking the link above.

How to Access the Alt Text Generator on TextCortex

To get to it quickly on TextCortex, navigate to the left panel and under ‘Customizations’ you will see a listing called ‘Marketplace’, click that.

Under ‘Templates for you’ you can type the name of the template (Alt Text Generator for Images) in the search bar and it should come right up. Just click on the template and you might be taken to a screen that looks like this:

After you click on ‘Use template’ or ‘Try it yourself’  you’ll be taken directly to the chat bar where you can enter the details of the image you want to create alt text for.

How to Use the Alt Text Generator Template

A quick note: the template prompt is preset and is already optimized for you to get relevant Alt Text for your images.

You will not have to edit this prompt, I just put this graphic here to show you what the prompt is that TextCortex will be using to create your Alt Text.

The prompt and text example for the Alt Text generator for Images Template

The text inside the square brackets will be the details you enter into the template to generate the alt text. You will be entering your specific photo details in the chat bar like in the below example.

You will notice the template name (in purple) is displayed at the top of the chat bar to let you know that you are using the right template and all you have to do is enter the details of what’s in your image and TextCortex will craft those words into alt text that you can copy and use for your image(s)!

Because it is pretty much the Halloween season at the time of creating this (not to mention its one of the Tech Agitator’s favorite holidays), I wanted to get alt text for a picture of jack-o-lanterns on a front lawn. I entered the details of the picture in the chat bar, which you can see below.

If you are actively following along while you read this and you have an image in mind for which you want to generate alt text, go ahead and enter your details in the chat bar and take a look at the alt text TextCortex gives you.

For this example, I needed alt text for this image:

The text in the orange circle is the actual Alt Text you can use, which the template quickly generated for you.

I love that TextCortex also gives you additional details about the alt text it generated, explaining why it works well for both accessibility and SEO optimization.

Pretty cool, right? Or shall we say easy peasy [pumpkin] squeezy? Okay, okay… the jokes here a free.

But that’s pretty much it. You are all set to generate all text for any image you wish. All you have to do is input the relevant keyword details for your photo and you’re ready to go. Use the template to your heart’s content!
